A selection of useful music and recording links.

First some artsong-specific links:

Looking for the text to a song? This site claims to have nearly 15,000 song texts (in many languages) by over 2000 composers.

For some reason, the best site we have found related specifically to British song (and also songs that just happen to be in English) is based in Arizona. It has links to publishers, national music information centres and composers, and a search engine.

Other music sites of particular interest:

Len Mullenger has created a vast site specialising in British music, with information on many composers both famous and obscure. Now also featuring reviews of Musaeus discs!

Gordon Rumson and his imprint Sikesdi Press have a lot of useful information.

The African American Art Song Alliance has plenty of information about, well, African American composers. So does the Centre for Black Music Research.

Audio sites:

Bob Katz has created a real tour de force of a site for his company Digital Domain, with all sorts of information on everything to do with digital audio and reams of useful links too.

MP3Pro player/encoder

We have recently added some MP3Pro files to this site. These give higher quality at lower bitrates (faster download) than normal MP3 files if played with a suitable MP3Pro player. Get one here.
